Five of the best flower-filled hotels to visit this summer

With the summer holiday season upon us, we thought we would take a journey around the world and check into some of the finest hotels for those who love flowers.

From London to Las Vegas, and Paris to Dubai via Italy, here’s our pick of five luxurious places to stay where the floral displays are as opulent as the accommodation.

Burj Al Arab, Dubai

Let’s start with the Burj Al Arab, Dubai's most iconic hotel. An architectural masterpiece designed to represent the billowing sail of an Arabian dhow, the self-titled ‘most luxurious hotel in the world’ is an awe-inspiring mix of luxury and spectacular design.

The luxury extends to the flowers in the all-suite hotel where the hotel’s six in-house florists take a staggering eight hours to create the regularly changed flower arrangements in the lobby. Flowers are shipped directly from Holland, Kenya, South Africa and Thailand, with each stem individually selected to ensure quality (just as Direct2florist’s florist network does!).

The flower team always aims to include a guest’s favourite flowers in the floral displays in their suite, creating bespoke arrangements ahead of their arrival, while events are renowned for using thousands of flowers for the most luxurious backdrops.

Bellagio, Las Vegas

Las Vegas doesn’t do subtle, so it’s no surprise that the flowers in this world-famous resort and casino are on a scale you’ll struggle to see outside of the city.

For flower and plant lovers, the hotel’s 14,000-square-foot Conservatory & Botanical Garden is something of an oasis of calm in the madness of the city, with the plants on display transforming for each season.

Previous themes have covered Japanese spring, Chinese New Year, an underwater paradise, seasons and major holidays. And because this is Vegas, this floral spectacle is free and open to the public 24/7.

Corinthia, London

Moments from The Thames, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace lies a grand, immaculately restored façade, home to a top-rated five-star hotel that is challenging London’s established big names to be the best.

Luxury and quality are the name of the game here, with no expense spared to ensure guests enjoy their stay. The flower displays here are lavish, with the central display in the Crystal Moon Lounge a particular favourite, where the flower displays do well to match the enchanting glow of a Baccarat chandelier. Flowers are everywhere around the hotel…even the artful table decorations lovingly created by the hotel’s in-house florist are a sight to behold.

Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris

The floral installations at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris are grand and showy enough to make guests and passers-by stop and stare in awe. In fact, so beautiful are the flowers that many tourists will travel to Paris just to enjoy the opulence of the flowers and the brilliant selection of vases and containers that they’re displayed in.

The arrangements, artfully rendered by esteemed floral artist Jeff Leatham, take you into what feels like a distant land, almost overshadowing the fact this is one of the most celebrated art-deco hotels in the world.

The flowers don’t end there — they also add bold colour to the sleek and jazzy courtyard, illuminate the dining rooms with sleek sophistication, and lend guest rooms and suites customary Parisian elegance.

Villa Cipriani, Asolo

Just a few steps from the heart of the walled town of Asolo in northern Italy, Villa Cipriani is the ideal destination for those who love flowers.

Not only are the seasonal in-hotel displays absolutely gorgeous, at the heart of Villa Cipriani is its famous garden that changes colours with the seasons: invaded with tulips in April, a cascade of fragrant roses in May and gradually alternating scents, like the unforgettable olea fragrans, and colours as the months pass. Then there is the imposing persimmon tree in front of the terrace featured in the garden in the winter months.
