At Direct2florist we are proud to be different. Twenty years ago from a flower shop in Bolton a tech-savvy father and son who both loved the flower industry had the foresight to recognise that things were changing in the flower world and they decided to do something about it.

In a rather beaten up Ford Fiesta, Simon Stirling who is now the Managing Director of Direct2florist would drive up and down the country speaking, building relationships with florists and demonstrating the system which his father had designed.

This system joined together florists who wanted to remain independent and who didn’t want to be dictated to. They didn’t want to be part of the developing and powerful order gathering companies who dictated their stock of flowers and florist sundries and who smothered their artistry and individualism. They did not want to pay huge membership fees and many hidden extra whilst receiving little money for the delivered product.

Today we have a membership of over 800 local high street flower shops throughout the U.K. and Ireland as well as the facility to deliver flowers throughout the world using like-minded companies and are still family-owned.

Florists have seen their market change and Direct2florist have changed with them and flourished primarily because those working in it have floristry backgrounds and put the customer and florist first. We treat all our florists with respect, fairness and importantly, just old fashioned kindness and trust. which in return means that the customer receives the best possible gift of flowers.

We have been hugely privileged to have been nominated for a number of awards.In 2018 Direct2florist were recognised by the industry at the annual British Floristry Awards as winners of the Business Service Provider of the Year. Proudly we won the award again in 2019!!!!

In 2018 we were finalists in the Service Provider of the Year at the Fresh Produce Consortium awards ceremony at The Tower of London. We have also been nominated for the Fambiz awards in 2020!

What all this means is that we love our job. We love flowers. We think it shows.
